पहचान – जो कार्य भूतकाल में शुरू हुआ चला और भूतकाल में खत्म हो गया वे Past Perfect Continuous Tense के अंतर्गत आते हैं । ऐसे वाक्यों के अंत में रहा था , रहे थे ,रही थी आते हैं और काम के शुरू होने का समय दिया होता है ।
Formulae –
- +ve – Sub + had + been +V1 + ing + obj + for / since + time .
- -ve – Sub + had + not + been + V1 + ing + obj + for / since + time .
- Sub + hadn’t + not + been + V1 + ing+ obj + for / since + time .
- Ques – Had + Sub + been +V1 + ing + obj+ for / since + time ?
- Had + Sub + not + been + V1 + ing + obj + for / since + time ?
- Hadn’t + Sub + been + V1 + ing + obj + for / since + time ?
A. Affirmative Sentences
1. वह तीन महीने से अपनी कार बेच रहा था
- He had been selling his car for 3 month .
2. वह सुबह से काम कर रहा था ।
- He had been working since morning.
3. मै पांच घंटे से तुम्हारा इंतजार कर रहा था ।
- I had been waiting for you for 5 hours .
4. शनिवार से बारिश हो रही थी।
- It had been raining since Saturday .
5. यह महिला पिछली रात से अपने कपड़े सी रही थी ।
- This woman had sewing her clothes since last night.
6. मैं सुबह से दौड़ रहा था ।
- I had been running since morning .
7. अनु दो घंटे से पढ़ रही थी ।
- Anu had been reading for 2 hours.
8. मैं तीन हफ्तों से पत्र लिख रहा था ।
- I had been writing letters for three weeks.
9. हम दो सालों से तुम्हारे घर आ रहे थे ।
- We had been coming to your house for 2 years .
10. चिड़िया 1 घंटे से आकाश में उड़ रही थी ।
- The bird had been flying in the sky for 2 hours .
Rule 1. सभी subject के साथ had been का प्रयोग करके ing form of Verb लगाते हैं ।
Rule 2. Since / For का प्रयोग उसी प्रकार होता है जिस प्रकार Present Perfect Continuous Tense में होता है।
B. Negative Sentences
- 1. दस बजे से बारिश नहीं हो रही थी ।
- It had not been raining since ten o’clock.
- 2. बढ़ई 2 दिन से काम नहीं कर रहा था ।
- The carpenter had not been working for 2 days .
- 3. अनु 2 घंटे से नहीं पढ़ रही थी।
- Anu had not been reading for 2 hours.
- 4. वह 3 महीने से अपनी कार नहीं बेच रहा था ।
- He had not been selling his car for 3 month .
- 5.श्रेया पिछले दो सप्ताह से अपना काम नहीं कररही थी ।
- Shreya had not been doing her work her last two weeks .
- 6. मैं सुबह से नहीं दौड़ रहा था ।
- I had not been running since morning .
- 7. वह मुझसे 2 दिनों से बात नहीं कर रही थी ।
- She had not been talking to me for 2 days .
Rule 1. Negative sentences में had के तुरंत बाद not लगा देते है ।
C. Interrogative Sentences
1. क्या मैं काम कर रहा था ?
Had I been working ?
2. क्या वह सुबह से मेरा इंतजार कर रहा था ।
Had he been waiting for me since morning ?
3. क्या मैं तुम्हारी सहायता 2020 से नहीं कर रहा था ?
Had I not been helping you since 2010 ?
Or Hadn’t I been helping you since 2010 ?
4. सुबह 8 बजे से कितने लोग बाजार जा रहे थे ?
How many people had been going to market since 8 a.m. ?
5. घोड़े 1 घंटे से क्यों दौड़ रहे थे ?
Why had the horses been running for 1 hour ?
6. क्या मैं आपको 2 दिनों से गाली दे रहा था ?
Had I been abusing you for 2 days ?
Rule 1. Interrogative negative sentences में ‘ not ‘ subject के बाद आता है । लेकिन अगर ‘ not ‘ auxiliary verb के साथ contracted हो (i.e. hadn’t ) तो Contraction ( hadn’t ) Subject के पहले आता है । e.g. ( 3 )
Rule 2. Interrogative sentences में अगर वाक्य के शुरुआत में ‘ क्या ‘ हो तो Had subject से पहले लगाते हैं और verb की ing Form लगाते है । वाक्य में सबसे पहले ‘ क्या ‘ हो तो ‘क्या ‘ के लिए what नहीं लगाते हैं । e.g. ( 1, 2 )
Rule 3. अगर प्रश्न सूचक शब्द वाक्य के बीच में हो तो अनुवाद करते समय सबसे पहले उनकी अंग्रेजी आती है , फिर had आता है फिर subject और फिर been , फिर verb की ing Form आती हैं । e.g.( 5 )
Rule 4. How many , how much, whose , which के साथ पुणे से संबंधित nouns भी आते हैं । e.g. ( 4 )
Rule 5.वाक्य के अंत में प्रश्नसूचक चिन्ह (?)अवश्य लगाते हैं ।

1. ऐसे कार्य जो भूतकाल में शुरू हुआ ,चला और भूतकाल में खत्म हो गया की अभिव्यक्ति के लिए वह भोर से ही काम कर रहा था । He had been working since dawn . वे बच्चे सुबह से सो रहे थे । Those children had been sleeping since morning. यह महिला पिछली रात से अपने कपड़े सी रही थी । This woman had sewing her clothes since last night .
